OBITUARY : VIVEK SHAUQ (21 JUN 1963-10 JAN 2011)

           It is with a great sense of grief and shock that we inform the 35 Model Alumni about the untimely death of our beloved Vivek Shauq, one of the brightest stars produced by 35 Model, Chandigarh. It has been learn that Vivek was not keeping well and was hospitalised for heart and Kidney ailment. He breathed his last at about 11 AM on 10 Jan 2011. Vivek (47) was admitted to the Jupiter hospital in Thane, after he complained of cardiac arrest, where he breathed his last, they said.Vivek Shauq will always be remembered as an extremely soft spoken, kind hearted and friendly human being beside an accomplished actor of commendable repute. He was a staple feature in all our school assemblies where he would regale everyone with his mimicry and narratives. He was like a superstar in the school and has remained in the hearts of all of us, Vivek started his acting career with theatre and television, is survived by wife - Sarabjeet, twin daughters - Sadhika and Mudita - and son Sunishthh. Vivek had acted in about 60 films - both Hindi and Punjabi - including 'Gadar - Ek Prem Katha', 'Aitraaz' and '36 China Town' among others. He also worked in popular television shows 'Flop Show', 'Ulta Pulta' and 'Full tension'.
           During Mar 2010 he was in Punjab for some film assignment and had promised to attend the School reunion in Apr. He could not attend the event but was sweet and considerate enough to have messaged his apologies and had promised to attend the next Get Together. But alas, that was not to be. Vivek Shauq will always remain in our Heart. We mourn his untimely demise and pray to the Almighty to give strength to the family to bear this irreparable loss. ...................Vivek sir, We will miss you and you will always remain in our Heart................

    He was a great person with huge talent. Made us and our School proud.
    I still remember when he once came to school as Alumni Guest n performed Stand Up Act of ....Sariyaan Kudiyaan A...iyaan--Balwant Kaur na aayee....
    We will definitely miss him!!

  3. IT WAS A SHOCK WHEN I HEARD THIS. VIVEK WAS MY BATCHMATE CLASS OF 1979 AND WE USED TO PLAY BASKETBALL TOGETHER. A MASTER STORY TELLER. REMEMBER HIS POEM ANPADH DHANO WHICH HAD US IN SPLITS.
