VIVEK SHAUQ
(21 JUN 1963 - 10 JAN 2011)

It is with a great sense of grief and shock that we inform the 35 Model Alumni about the untimely death of our beloved Vivek Shauq, one of the brightest stars produced by 35 Model, Chandigarh. It has been learn that Vivek was not keeping well and was hospitalised for heart and Kidney ailment. He breathed his last at about 11 AM on 10 Jan 2011. Vivek (47) was admitted to the Jupiter hospital in Thane, after he complained of cardiac arrest, where he breathed his last, they said.Vivek Shauq will always be remembered as an extremely soft spoken, kind hearted and friendly human being beside an accomplished actor of commendable repute. He was a staple feature in all our school assemblies where he would regale everyone with his mimicry and narratives. He was like a superstar in the school and has remained in the hearts of all of us, Vivek started his acting career with theatre and television, is survived by wife - Sarabjeet, twin daughters - Sadhika and Mudita - and son Sunishthh. Vivek had acted in about 60 films - both Hindi and Punjabi - including 'Gadar - Ek Prem Katha', 'Aitraaz' and '36 China Town' among others. He also worked in popular television shows 'Flop Show', 'Ulta Pulta' and 'Full tension'.
During Mar 2010 he was in Punjab for some film assignment and had promised to attend the School reunion in Apr. He could not attend the event but was sweet and considerate enough to have messaged his apologies and had promised to attend the next Get Together. But alas, that was not to be. Vivek Shauq will always remain in our Heart. We mourn his untimely demise and pray to the Almighty to give strength to the family to bear this irreparable loss. ...................Vivek sir, We will miss you and you will always remain in our Heart................

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2011...... SILVER JUBILEE YEAR FOR 1986 BATCH

2010 has gone leaving behind a loadful of memories and the dawn of a new year brings with it a lot of hope, expectation and resolutions. We bid farewell to the year gone bye with a lot of gratitude and fondness. To many of us, it was a long trip down the memory lane. We were able to link up with many friends from school days and relive those golden times. It also re-affirmed our faith that knowingly or unknowingly, the bonds formed during our school days have stayed strong till today. We hope and pray that these bonds will grow from strength to strength in times to come and we will continue to derive pride from the fact that "35 Model Chandigarh" provided us the foundation on which we have built our life.
The year 2011 also marks the "SILVER JUBILEE" of passing out of the 86 Batch. I am sure that the batch will have grand plans for celebrating this momentous milestone and we will hear about their celebrations in  days to come.
On behalf of the entire 35 Model Fraternity, we wish ourselves a year filled with Happiness, Good Health, Peace & Prosperity. May the year ahead also bring more friends together and widen the school alumni network......................Amen

POST SABBATICAL..................

It is again after nearly 4 months that one is getting back writing on the blog. This self imposed sabbatical was not because there was not much happening on the Alumni front, but was because the inputs were not being sent for uploading and I did not want to "lift" pics from Facebook/Orkut etc. However, these social network sites are being used very actively to pursue the aim of reconnecting with batchmates and friends. The feeling of belongingness is quite visible for everyone to see.
This school blog meanwhile found mention in some vernacular dailies some time back for being the only blog of a Govt School in Chandigarh. One doesn't know how correct it is, but anyway we need to make this blog more vibrant and interactive. How exactly, is for you all to tell and guide. Can we begin by having another look at our respective batch lists and updating it? We did get a lot of information after the Get together in April but haven't been able to upload it. Shall be doing that part soon.
And now the most awaited question......... Should we have another School Get Together? If yes, then 'When'?  How will end October or mid Nov be? Hopefully a lot of you will be home for Festivals. Please let us know your views. The more unanimous they are, easier it will be for us to home on to a most suitable date. And I must admit, we will need as many volunteers as possible to help us organise the show. Last time around some generous Alumni came around to help us prepare memorabilias etc. Such help(only genuine) will also be required this time. Let's put our thoughts together on this issue. Hope to hear from you all soon.............
